The Friends of the Lord-Higel House was incorporated in 2008 and is a 501(c)(3) organization qualified to receive tax deductible contributions. The organization was established to raise funds for the restoration and maintenance of the historic Lord-Higel House which was built in l896. The structure is the oldest existing house in the Venice area.
The house is representative of the way of life during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Those who came here during this period learned to live off the land by hunting, fishing, and farming. They raised families and forged the way for others to come. The house is a remnant of the original settlers and founders of Venice, not just the Lords or the Higels. It is part of the heritage of everyone who was born here, or who lives, works, or plays here.

The first $25 of all membership dues is clasified as dues, and anything over $25 is clasified as a donation to the restoration of the house and is tax deductable.
